The 1st International Bible Study Week
Jerusalem, Israel
6-9 July 2015
We’re so pleased to announce this project from the Ecumenical Fraternity and Jerusalem Journey!
This exciting and innovative new program offers Christians from all over the world the opportunity to study the Bible in the land that brings it to life. By studying in Israel and being taught by Jewish and Christian scholars, you can uncover the realism, tradition, and enduring practice of the Bible while being immersed in the land that nourished the Jewish and Christian faiths.
Our lecturers and guides have been drawn from Israel, Europe, and the United States. Each has a different area of expertise and is highly respected in his or her field, so there will be fascinating lectures and tours to choose from, encompassing subjects like archaeology, history, Jewish studies, and art.
2015 Faculty:
Rabbi Talia Avnon-Benveniste, Prof. Gabriel Barkay, Rabbi Joshua Berman, Rev. Aart Brons, Rabbi Yehuda Gilad, Jared Goldfarb, Rev. Dr. Petra Heldt, Dr. Marcie Lenk, Dr. Jonathan Lipnick, Prof. Malcolm F. Lowe, Yael Mali, Dean Claire Pfann, Prof. Lawrence H. Schiffman, Prof. Israel Yuval, Dr. Yael Ziegler, Dr. Malka Zeiger-Simkovich, and more.
The program consists of three days of lectures followed by one day of guided excursions. You can register for the entire program or for individual days, and you don’t need to have any particular educational or denominational background in order to participate. If you wish to deepen your faith by enriching your understanding of the biblical text, we warmly invite you to register!
