An evening REMEMBERING THE MONKS OF LAVRA NETOFA Father Jacob and Father Thomas

Thursday May 4, 2017 at 20:00 at Ratisbonne Monastery in Jerusalem, 26 Shmuel HaNagid Street

PROGRAM:

​Pnina Bar, the author of the book, 'Jacob and Thomas the Monks from Mount Netofa: "Yacov and Toma"
​Rev. David Neuhaus SJ, Latin Patriarchal Vicar: "Light from the East"

​Musical accompaniment by the Saints Simeon and Anne Community

The evening will be in English and in Hebrew.

​Lavra Netofa was a Byzantine monastic community that sought to live a life of prayer, contemplation, study and work in simplicity. The community opened its gates to all and saw itself as a place of meeting for people from the three religions, Christians, Jews and Muslims. Many frequented the place over the forty years of its existence.
