Fr. Pierre Lenhardt, nds OBM
Pierre Lenhardt was born on the 5th of November 1927 in Strasbourg. He entered the Congregation of the Religious of Notre Dame de Sion in 1963. After studies in philosophy, theology and ancient languages at the Catholic Institute in Paris as well as seven years at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem where he received in 1976 a license to teach Talmud. He taught in Jerusalem, at the Christian Centre for Jewish Studies (Saint Pierre de Sion  -Ratisbonne). He also taught at the Catholic Institutes of Paris, Lyon, the "Institut fur Kirche und Judentum" in Berlin and at Jerusalem's Ecole Biblique, at various seminaries, religious communities, universities and parishes in several countries around the world including Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Spain, Italy, the UK, Germany, France, the Congo, Israel, etc.

Author of numerous articles and several books, Fr. Pierre Lenhardt was one of the most knowledgeable persons in his generation of the connections between Judaism and Christianity. His latest book, translated into several languages, "The Unity of the Trinity. Listening to the Tradition of Israel" was published in 2011 in Paris by "les Editions Paroles et Silence."

In 2004, Fr Pierre received the prize of the "Amitie Judeo-Chretienne" in France for his work. After a stay in the house of Marie Therese of the Paris Diocese, Fr. Pierre resided in "Ma Maison des Petites Soeurs des Pauvres" (in 2015) where he passed away on the 1st of July 2019 and where his funeral was held on the 5th of July. He was in his 56th year as a religious of Sion.
